DEMONSTRATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS
There are a plethora of live demonstrations and talks to view at Vetavision 2017. Some of the things that you can expect to see include a demonstration from the RCMP canine unit of their dogs at work, sheep herding through the collaborative effort of a local shepherd and his canine friends, cow milking, equine body condition scoring, and many more! In fact, St. John’s Ambulance will be sharing 4 teams of therapy dogs with the public on Friday September 29 from 9:00 to 10:00am.
There are also talks on veterinary pathology, common toxicities in our companion animals, and of course the veterinary profession as a whole during the much anticipated Pre-Vet night. For more, check out our teaser trailer for Vetavision or click here for our complete schedule!
Pre-Vet night will be hosted at 4:00pm on Saturday September 30, 2017; Pre-Vet night is a great opportunity for prospective veterinary or veterinary technician students to learn more about what these careers entail and what is required to enroll. Attendees will hear from of Veterinary Medical Center’s Large Animal Medicine clinicians Dr. Chris Clark as he describes the admissions process for an education in veterinary medicine. The presentation will be followed by a pizza dinner, presentations from other faculty and staff from the WCVM (including Dr. Julia Montgomery, Dr. Kate Robinson, Dr. Murray Jelinski, and Erin Wasson), and question-and-answer sessions with current veterinary and veterinary technician students. Admission to the event is $10.00. Please note that in order to provide enough food for everyone, we require that all attendees register for the event in advance. The deadline for registration has passed but we still encourage you to visit Vetavision for the myriad other events and sights!
